PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficiency of a generator by enclosing the stator coil ends with an enclosure composed of insulating resin material, forming a flow passage in the circumferential direction between the back of the enclosure and the internal wall of front and rear brackets, fitting a cooling cover to the external end of the rear bracket, forming a branch flow passage between both internal wall of a rear bracket and the back of the enclosure on the backside, and feeding the coolant through this passage. CONSTITUTION:A pulley 2 and a rotor 3 are fixed to a rotating shaft 1 and clicks 5a and 7a of pole cores 5 and 7 jut out in the circumferential direction. An exciting coil 9 is held to an iron core 8 and a statore core 10 holds a stator coil 11 at its slot. An enclosure 24 is made of insulating materials of synthetic resin, enclosing both coil ends of a coil 11. For a front bracket 26 a flow passage 32a of the coolant is formed in the circumferential direction between the inner wall and the back of the enclosure 24. Between the inner wall of a bracket 30 and an enclosure 24 on the backside a coolant flow passage 32b is formed in the radial direction. The coolant flows through the flow passage and branch flow passage to cool the generator, so that its cooling efficiency is improved.
