PURPOSE:To attain editing operation without necessitating consciousness of the difference of resolution of two outputting devices by changing magnification of image data for insertion corresponding to dot resolution of an objective outputting device automatically at the time of outputting insertion data. CONSTITUTION:When storing image data obtained by cutting out process, information whether the data is for a printing device or for a display unit is added to each image data as data designating information (a). When making insertion, if the image data is identical with an outputting device stored in a file corresponding to the kind of the outputting device, that is, when it is a regular outputting device, outputting is made as it is. Contrarily, if it is different from one for an outputting device stored in the file, outputting is made after changing magnification according to information on resolution of the two outputting devices.
