PURPOSE:To reduce the dimension and weight of the whole workpiece installation device by installing a rod which can be engaged and disengaged with a clamping lever and a hydraulic cylinder for operating the rod outside a table and avoiding the need of installing a rotary coupling. CONSTITUTION:A support is installed onto a base outside a table 1, and supports a hydraulic cylinder 4. A rod 6 as a transmission member is connected with the piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder 4, and a recessed part C opened upwardly is formed at the top edge of the rod 6. When indexing is completed through the rise, rotation and lowering of the table 1, a clamping lever on the table 1 is engaged with the recessed part C. In this state, the hydraulic cylinder 4 operates to shift the rod 6 rightward, and the clamping lever 9 is turned and separated against the force of a spring 8 from the workpiece installation surface of a receiving metal fitting 11 installed onto the table 1, and the press-fixing of a workpiece 10 is released.
