PURPOSE:To detect weld defects and to increase the strength of the titled welded joint by forming an angle between the groove surface and the welded joint surface to an obtuse angle and reducing the buttering welding quantity with the approach to the center of the joint to reduce the welding time. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a furnace vessel 2 of a tank type high-speed breeder, for instance, a roof slab 1 and the vessel 2 under a Na liquid level of the furnace vessel are made of carbon steel and austenitic stainless steel respectively. The dissimilar material welding 3 of the carbon steel to the stainless steel is performed between both. In an operating state, the Na temperature attains >=50 deg.C and the diameter of a stainless steel part increases by the thermal expansion and the bending and the thermal stress in the peripheral direction are applied to a dissimilar material weld zone. Before long, the stress in the peripheral direction is made to the stress in the tangent direction with respect to a dissimilar material joint and generally, there is little problem on the strength. Since the buttering quantity is reduced and the buttering surface can be made to the residual stress of the compression with respect to the bending stress, the strength of the joint can be increased.
