ATM LAYER FUNCTION PROCESSOR HAVING EXTENDED STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend functions and scale by processing an ATM protocol by deriving required information by virtual channel/virtual path for the unit of a cell. SOLUTION: An ATM layer reception cell processing part 10 is composed of an input resource processor 11 and an ATM reception cell processor 12 and while utilizing a cell interruption signal and an extracted flag, a multiplexing operation is executed by a scheduling algorithm. An ATM layer transmission cell processing part 20 is composed of an ATM transmission cell processor 21 and an output resource processor 22 and takes charge of the routing, multi-address communication and selective multi-address communication of output cell to a network side physical layer function processing part 50 connected to respective physical links corresponding to field allocation based on a suitable output port identification value. Corresponding to the control signal of a processor interface part 30, a function mode processing part 40 can independently connect both the processing parts 10 and 20 to network side and subscriber side physical layer function parts 50.
