APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING RESIN-IMPREGNATED CURED SHEET AND APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CARBONACEOUS MATERIAL SHEET

An apparatus and process for producing a resin-impregnated cured sheet which comprises continuously curing a continuous uncured fibrous sheet obtained by forming short fibers into a sheet and impregnating it with an uncured resin; and an apparatus and process for producing a carbonaceous material sheet whi ch comprises continuously carbonizing the cured sheet. The carbonaceous materia l sheet is excellent in handleability and transportability and is capable of being wound. The continuous uncured fibrous sheet (1a) is conveyed by a conveying means comprising at least one pair of rotating belts (2) each comprising a drive roll (2a), a driven roll (2b), and an endless belt (2c) running on and between these rolls, and the resin is cured between heating/pressing rolls or between the endless belts. The resultant resin- impregnated cured sheet is then continuously conveyed in a horizontal direction to a carbonization chamber and carbonized therein to produce a carbonaceous material sheet.
