PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make ice having the lowest possible solvent content in a short time. SOLUTION: When water containing an absorbed solvent is frozen in an ice machine, the water is frozen and the solvent remains unfrozen because of a difference between their freezing points to form ice particles C and concentrated water. The ice particles and the concentrated water are collected in a low-temperature insulated tank 30, where they are allowed to grow into ice while they are irradiated with ultrasonic waves from an ultrasonic wave oscillator 90. This removes the entrapped bubbles 102 (in which waste gas is entrapped) from the ice particles. As a result, the ice particles C grow into ice almost the same as that obtained from pure water and are separated from the concentrated water. Purer ice can be made even when the water containing an absorbed solvent is frozen within a short time because the bubbles (solvent) entrapped in the ice particles C can be removed by irradiating the ice particles C with ultrasonic waves.
