<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner leakage during image formation and to prevent toner from firmly fixed on a development blade in long-term use. <P>SOLUTION: When the rotation of a developer carrier is started, a potential difference is applied between the developer carrier and a developer restricting member by a bias application means. Thus, reverse polarity toner which causes toner leakage is restricted by the action of an electric field between the developer carrier and the developer restricting member, thereby preventing toner leakage when starting the rotation of the developer carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
