To work a soil regularly independently of the nature of the lands to be cultivated, the working depth of the tools (5) is adjusted as a function of the soil resistance while maintaining the parallelism with respect to the soil. To this effect, the soil working tools (5) are mounted floating on a carrier frame (1). An adjusting device (6), preferably hydraulically controlled, is provided on one hand on the carrier frame (1) and on the other hand on the soil working tools (5). The suspension of the soil working tools (5) and the adjusting device (6) are such that, despite a pendular motion of the soil working tools in the carrier frame, the parallelism with respect to the soil is maintained.
