The machine has a cutting mechanism (2) with two side-by-side cutters rotating about vertical axes, followed by a distributor (3) with a bladed lifting drum (19) rotating about a horizontal axis inside a tunnel (11). The tunnel is suspended from an overhanging arm (6) attached to the frame for the cutters so that it can be tilted about a vertical axis (8) to distribute the cut material to one side, forming a swath in line with the direction of travel. Attached to the top of the spindle forming the vertical axis is an arm (9) connected to a piston and cylinder to control its alignment. Attached to the top of the tunnel is an extension (16) with a flap suspended from its end, forming a guide directing downwards the horizontally flowing cut material.
