PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a coat from being marred when a pile is driven into a soft ground containing pebbles and a corrosive soft ground by forming a corrosion-resistant layer of a specific resin on the outer face of a steel pipe pile, then laminating a viscoelastic substance layer and a protecting layer of a specific structure on the outer face, and fitting a specific reinforcing band to an uncovered part at the tip. SOLUTION: When a steel pipe 1 is driven into a soft ground containing numerous pebbles, a viscoelastic substance layer 2 of a bituminous substance and a protecting layer 3 made up of glass roving cut to the length of 4-100 mm and either of colored polyester or urethane elastomer are laminated on the outer face of the steel pipe pile 1. Further, a steel reinforcing band is fitted to an uncovered part at the tip and a steel protecting fitting is attached to the lower end of the protecting layer 3. When the pile 1 is driven into a corrosive ground containing numerous pebbles, a corrosion-resistant layer made up of a polyethylene or an urethane elastomer is formed on the outer face of the steel pipe pile 1 and a similar protecting layer is formed on the outer face of the corrosion-resistant layer. In addition, a sacrificial corrosion-resistant reinforcing band is fitted to the uncovered part at the tip and a sacrificial corrosion-resistant protecting metal is fitted to the lower end of the protecting layer 3. |
