<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a field emission type cold-cathode structure that emits electrons with electric field and has taken countermeasures against defective electron emission due to dust or others. SOLUTION: The field emission type cold-cathode structure is formed with a plurality of emitter tips on the base electrode at a prescribed interval, and a gate electrode around each of the plural emitter tips. The base and gate electrodes are insulated electrically through an insulating layer and have the structure of applying a prescribed DC voltage between them. A low-melting point metal layer is provided between the base electrode and the plural emitter tips in this constitution.</p> |
