Common oil cooler and oil filter mounting - is fitted in water cooled oil circuit of IC engine using hollow fixing bolt

The cooler housing (5) has the form of a hollow cylindrical ring. The inlet and outlet openings (16, 17) for the oil cooling coil mounted in the cylinder are located in the flat end faces (7, 8) of the ring. The hollow bolt (2) with which the oil filter (4) is mounted, passes through the centre of the cooler housing and secures the oil cooler at the same time. The hollow fixing bolt screws in a threaded bore (22) of the oil inlet channel in the engine housing. The sealing ring (13) on the engine housing for the fixing arrangement, at the same time encloses a space which is used to guide the oil from the engine outlet to the oil cooler.
