<p>The motor and crank driven impact tool with reciprocating piston has a cylindrical housing in which periodically an air cushion is connected to atmosphere or a drive housing. Connected to the impact piston is an exchangeable drill or impact tool bit. Drive housing cooling is accomplished by an exhaust or cooling air from the drive motor. The drive housing is made of good heat conducting material and the drive housing outer surface has a number of longitudinal cooling ribs to which the exhaust is led to atmos. The cooling ribs are formed by non cutting shaping. The cooling rib configuration provides for a recess and air guide component. For air rib cleaning purposes the guide component is made detachable.</p>
