PURPOSE:To make the potential on the surface of a recording medium after destaticization uniform with simple constitution by applying alternating electric fields from the rear surface of a transfer material superposed on the toner images on the front surface of the recording medium and transferring the toner images onto the transfer material. CONSTITUTION:A corona discharger 8 for transfer is constituted of a charge wire 11 extending in the axial line direction of a recording medium 1 and a shielding case 12 having an opening on the medium 1 side, and the AC voltage of an AC electric power source 13 is held applied between the wire 1 and the case 12. The case 12 is kept grounded. The AC electric fields reaches from the discharger 8 in the form of corona discharge to a transfer material 7, and the toner on the medium 1 migrates onto the surface of the material 7, by which toner images are transferred. Since the AC electric fields are applied without application of a DC voltage on the material 7, the potential on the surface of the medium 1 after destaticization is made uniform with the simple constitution. |
