PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, high-sensitivity pressure detection apparatus capable of accurately detecting variation in external pressure. SOLUTION: In this package for the pressure detection apparatus, a first electrode 7 for forming an electrostatic capacity and a frame 1c surrounding it are provided on one principal surface of an insulating base 1 having a semiconductor device 3 mounted on the other principal surface thereof, and an insulating plate 2 having a second electrode 9 for forming an electrostatic capacity is mounted on the frame 1c, with the center portion of the second electrode opposed to the first electrode 7 and the outer periphery of the second electrode soldered onto the frame 1c. A slit 9a for preventing overflowing of solder is formed between the soldered outer periphery of the second electrode 9 and the center portion of the second electrode opposed to the first electrode 7.
