PURPOSE: A cooling system is provided to minimize thermal losses caused due to the flow of refrigerant, while achieving improved cooling efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A cooling system comprises a superconducting rotor including a superconducting field coil(102) for generating strong magnetic fields by using the power applied from an external source, and a field coil support(113) for supporting the field coil and which has an interior formed of a hollow closed space; a conducting cooling rod(101) inserted into the hollow closed space of the field coil support so as to cool the field coil; a cooling unit for cooling the conducting cooling rod; and a refrigerant supply pipe(108) for supplying a refrigerant to the hollow closed space of the field coil support through the interior of the conducting cooling rod.
