On the axle side of the disc 23 is a beryllium bronze leaf spring 25, its centre portion in a groove in plate 24 attached to the disc and its ends bolted to a member 28 screwed to the axle. When the axle rotates the spring forces the disc to rotate and passes current between the two while allowing relative longitudinal movement. |
