PURPOSE:To reduce color noise due to defects of a pickup element, by eliminating an output signal from a defective picture element. CONSTITUTION:In a color solid-state image pickup device, a luminance signal and a chroma signal are obtained by using the correlation of output signals from a plurality of adjacent picture elements. A memory circuit 154 stores addresses of the defective picture element in a CCD. As signals from the CCD, an OH signal without delay and a 1H signal delayed by one horizontal scanning period are generated and a picture signal is obtained from them. The OH and 1H signals are read out from the memory circuit 154 and processed for operation, then switches SW1-SW3 are controlled at the period in response to the defective picture element, allowing to avoid the operational processing of signals from the defective picture elements. |
