a detection unit configured to detect an object from image data; a blurring processing unit configured to execute blurring processing on a background area in the image data, the background area being other than an object area corresponding to the object detected by the detection unit; and a control unit configured to control the blurring processing unit to execute the blurring processing when the background area has a first size, and not to execute the blurring processing when the background area has a second size smaller than the first size.
