PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced image of high quality which has jitters removed through simple constitution by generating a beam continuously in a period except an unstable period right after the beam is generated. CONSTITUTION:A deflector unit 46 is driven at a constant speed by a driving circuit 104, a speed signal sent out of the driving circuit 104 is applied to an error detector 106 to discriminate whether or not the deflector unit 46 rotates normally, and the discrimination signal is applied to a sequence controller 103. This error detector 106 generates an unblanking signal for emitting a laser beam from a semiconductor laser device 48 so that a beam detector 105 detects the beam. Consequently, the beam is generated continuously so that the beam detector detects the beam during the period except the unstable period of the beam right after the generation of the beam.
