<p>A small wooden cage ready to be kindled for feeding the hearth of an open fireplace. The cage consists of a wooden case 1 in which there are arranged a first layer of broken-up wood 2, a second layer of small logs 3, a third layer of logs 4 and a wick 6 which, prepared in a substance in order to be easily ignited, is arranged over a part of its length inside the case 1 where it is connected to an activating device 9, on its bottom 1a and below the broken-up layer 2 and over the other part of its length, outside the case 1 so that its free end 6a emerges outside to be easily lit by the user.
