Authorisation release procedure especially for motor vehicle

Releasing or triggering authorisation for use especially of a vehicle, requires storage of data specific to the device whose authorisation for use needs to be triggered or released. This device-specific data is compared against the data stored in the device requiring confirmation of use and an authorisation signal is then generated only when the result of comparison of the biometric data ascertained for the person requiring use of the vehicle and the device-specific data is positive. The device used for releasing authorisation for use includes a biometric sensor device (18) for ascertaining biometric data of a person, this data being compared (10) with biometric data in a storage device (14).
