ANTICORROSIVE FOR SOFT WATER BOILER

PURPOSE:To provide stable corrosion preventing power to an anticorrosive and to allow the anticorrosive to exhibit superior scaling ability by using a reaction product of monosaccharides and disaccharides with an alkali metal hydroxide and an alkali metal carbonate as the principal component ot the anticorrosive. CONSTITUTION:Monosaccharides such as glucose and disaccharides such as sucrose are blended with an alkali metal hydroxide such as NaOH and an alkali metal carbonate such is Ha2CO3 in about 80:20-10:90 and they are brought into a reaction at ordinary temp. or elevated temp. to prepare an anticorrosive for a soft water boiler. This anticorrosive forms a rigid coating film on the surface of a metal and exhibits stable corrosion preventing power. When the reaction product is mixed with a salt of an amino acid, a smaller amt. of the mixture added can produce the corrosion preventing effect as compared with only the reaction product.
