The connector consists of two hoses (7,8), one of which is connected at one end by a fixing (13) to a main distributor tap, while the other is connected via a duct (2) to a consumer unit (3). The other ends of the two hoses are joined together by a coupling (15,16). One end of the first hose (7) has an inner bore to receive the end (25) of a traditional nipple (6) with an outer ring (26) and a coupling nut (30). The ring is held diametrically in a recess (27), and in a lengthwise direction between the two thrust faces (28,29) on the ends of the hose and the nut. The hose and coupling nut have engaging threads (31,32) which control their relative axial movement and the compression of elastic ring (26). USE/ADVANTAGE - Forms gas-tight coupling between main tap and consumer which cannot be undone accidentally or by unauthorised person.
