PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discernment for a pedestrian without causing glare to a forward vehicle.SOLUTION: A lighting control system includes: a vehicular/pedestrian detection unit 11 that detects a forward vehicle and pedestrian; an irradiation range designation unit that designates a light irradiation range in each of an upper first light distribution area and lower second light distribution area consistent with respective positions of the forward vehicle and pedestrian; and a light distribution control unit 17 that produces control signals associated with the designated light irradiation ranges and outputs the control signals to vehicular headlamps. The irradiation range designation unit designates a partial area of the first light distribution area consistent with the positions of the forward vehicle in a light non-irradiation range. If the positions of the forward vehicle and pedestrian do not coincide with each other, partial areas of the first light distribution area and second light distribution areas respectively consistent with the positions of the pedestrian are designated in the light irradiation ranges. If the forward vehicle and pedestrian coincide with each other, the partial area of the first light distribution area consistent with the positions of the pedestrian is designated in the light non-irradiation range, and the partial area of the second light distribution area consistent with the positions of the pedestrian is designated in the light irradiation range. |
