A radio station (1) includes a first part (1A) and a second part (1B). 1. A radio station that is used in a radio communication network and is capable of transmitting and receiving user data including downlink user data and uplink user data to and from a plurality of mobile stations via an air interface, the radio station comprising:
a first part; and at least one second part that can be arranged so as to be physically separated from the first part and is connected to the first part via a transmission line so as to be able to communicate with the first part, wherein the first part comprises:
a first scheduling unit configured to perform dynamic scheduling to allocate a plurality of radio resources to the plurality of mobile stations or the user data; anda first signal processing unit capable of performing digital signal processing in order to transmit the downlink user data to the air interface and to restore the uplink user data from a signal received from the air interface, the second part comprises:
a second signal processing unit capable of performing, instead of the first signal processing unit, digital signal processing for a first mobile station connected to the second part; andan analog signal processing unit configured to perform analog signal processing including at least one of frequency conversion and power amplification to provide an air interface to the first mobile station, the radio station is configured to alternatively use one of the first and second signal processing units for the digital signal processing for the first mobile station, and one of the first and second signal processing units to be used is selected based on a security level of the user data.
