[Class 38 (ii).] Static contact rectifiers, arrangements of. -Relates to static contact rectifiers of the metal compound type connected in accordance with the Gratz circuit, and consists in arranging the elements in two columns each of which comprises groups of elements 6, 7 and 8, 9 connected in opposition, the load circuit such as a battery 12 under charge being connected between the points of interconnection 10, 11 of the groups. Thus failure of one column of elements due to overheating set up by a defective element in that column does not produce a short-circuit discharge path for the battery.
