PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refrigerator capable of accurately detecting stored articles in the refrigerator.SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises: a storage room including a door that can be opened/closed; a cooling mechanism cooling the storage room; a light source section radiating light into the storage room; an optical sensor section that can receive the light radiated from the light source section; and a control unit controlling the light source section to radiate the light and controlling a cooling capacity in the storage room on the basis of a quantity of light received by the optical sensor section, the control unit exerting at least any of cooling controls to increase a cold air introduction amount into the storage room, to lower a cold air temperature, and to agitate indoor air if the quantity of light received by the optical sensor section is smaller than a predetermined quantity of received light. |
