Disclosed is a roller-surface treating method, comprising the following steps: performing radial compression on a roller (100) along a peripheral direction and performing heat treatment on the roller to obtain a surface-modified roller (101), wherein the roller comprises a shaft part (110) and an elastic layer (120) wrapping the periphery of the shaft part. Further disclosed is a surface-modified roller. Radial compression is performed on the roller along the peripheral direction, so that the elastic layer generates compressive deformation, and therefore, the roller reaches a specified size, and the axial straightness and the flatness of the roller can be guaranteed. Hot treatment is performed on the roller, so that a hot melt layer (121) is formed on the surface of the elastic layer to fix the compressive deformation, and the hot melt layer is smooth without fluffing and has a high hardness. |
