The present invention addresses the problem of providing an absorbent article that is provided with a liquid-permeable layer, said liquid-permeable layer having convex portions that are hollow inside, has an improved ability to transfer menstrual blood from the liquid-permeable layer to an absorbent body and can reduce the amount of the menstrual blood remaining in the liquid-permeable layer (in particular, the internal cavities in the convex portions).
