PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index capable of accurately reproducing human body odor and performing object evaluation, and to provide means capable of objectively and accurately evaluating the body odor deodorization effect, etc. of cosmetics, perfume, and detergents, etc. with a simple operation.SOLUTION: There is provided an index agent for determining body odor, that contains a diketone compound expressed by a formula (I): R-(CO)-(CO)-R(in the formula (I), Rand Rrespectively and independently indicate alkyl groups with 1-4 carbon atoms). There is provided a method for evaluating a body odor deodorization effect using the index agent. There is provided a method for evaluating a deodorant. There is provided a method for determining body odor. There is provided a method for screening a body odor inhibitor for inhibiting the generation of the body odor due to the body odor determination index agent through the use of microbes having a diketone compound producibility. |
