A field emission device comprises: a cathode electrode; at least one emitter formed on the cathode electrode; an anode electrode disposed on an upper part of the cathode electrode; and a gate structure disposed between the cathode electrode and the anode electrode, wherein the gate structure includes a gate electrode having at least one aperture formed therein, and an atomic layer sheet formed on the gate electrode. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the field emission device can effectively control the size and convergence of emitted electron beams while providing a high electron transmittance and a high gate field effect.
