A method for machining a work piece is disclosed. The method comprises generating a default machining path based on a predefined model of an ideal work piece; generating an actual model of the work piece (S102); and machining the work piece by taking account of the actual model and the predefined model (S103). A corresponding system is also disclosed. With the method and system, each work piece may be treated individually in order to consistently produce machined work pieces.
