Disclosed are a method for predicting a quantization coefficient based on an intra prediction mode and an apparatus using the same. The method comprises: a step of selecting a referential adjacent block as a reference for predicting a quantization coefficient based on an intra prediction mode of the current block; a step of determining an estimated value of a quantization coefficient of the current block based on a quantization coefficient of the referential adjacent block; and a step of acquiring and reverse-quantizing the quantization coefficient of the current block by adding the estimated value of the quantization coefficient to a differential value of a decoded quantization coefficient of the current block. The present invention provides a method for predicting a quantization coefficient based on an intra prediction mode so as to improve image encoding/decoding efficiency.
