PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a high quality image display at a display device using a planar light source device of simple structure.SOLUTION: A planar light source device of this invention comprises the first light source generating the first light; the first light guide rod for receiving the first light and converting it into the first linear light; the second light source generating the second light having a larger divergence angle than that of the first light; and the second light guide rod for converting the second light into the second linear light extending in the same direction as that of the first linear light. In addition, the planar light source device comprises a reflection bar arranged at the planar light emission side rather than the first and second light guide rods; and a reflection part storing the first light guide rod, the second light source, the second light guide rod and the reflection bar, showing a box-shape with its inner wall becoming a reflection surface and having an opening at a plane of the planar light emission side plane. The first and second linear lights are reflected at the reflection bar and the reflection surface and emitted from the opening to outside the reflection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
