PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flexible light-emitting device excellent in light emission performance and environmental durability by combining an inexpensive, flexible base material having high barrier property, and an organic EL element suitable for this base material.SOLUTION: In a light emitting device, a first electrode (5), organic light-emitting layer (6), and a second electrode (7) are formed in that order on a base material including a metal foil (3). The second electrode (7) has an opening and, from the opening, emits light reflected by the metal foil (3) to outside. A reflection type base material including the metal foil (3) is formed by bonding a metal resin base material and the metal foil (3). An insulation layer (4) is formed on the metal foil (3). The second electrode (7) is formed from a thin-line structure and therefore opening is present in it, eliminating the need to be transmissive. Accordingly, among metal materials, a reflective electrode material of low LUMO, taking account of injection of electrons into the organic light-emitting layer, is used as a material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
