A supporting device for supporting a pipeline on the bed of a body of water having a frame (8) connectable in a sliding manner to a pipeline (2) extending along a longitudinal axis (A) between a laying vessel (1) and the bed (3) of a body of water (4); at least one floating body (9) connected to the frame (8); and at least one connecting mechanism (10) connecting the frame (8) to the floating body (9) and designed to define a distance (D) between the axis (A) of the pipeline (2) and the floating body (9), so as to apply a torque to the portion of pipeline (2) at the frame (8).
