An endoscopic forceps, comprising: a housing having a shaft that extends therefrom and defines a longitudinal axis therethrough; an end effector assembly operatively connected to a distal end of the shaft and including first and second jaw members pivotably coupled to one another, at least one of the first and second jaw members movable relative to the other of the first and second jaw members from an open position, wherein the first and second jaw members are disposed in spaced relation relative to one another, to a clamping position, wherein the first and second jaw members cooperate to grasp tissue therebetween; a drive mechanism including a single driving structure with a bifurcated distal end having two substantially resilient legs, wherein longitudinal translation of the single driving structure with respect to the shaft results in the first and second jaw members moving from the open position to the clamping position, the drive mechanism generating a closure force in a range from about 3kg/cm2 to about 16 kg/cm2 between the first and second jaw members; a movable handle operably associated with the housing and configured to actuate the drive mechanism when the movable handle is moved proximally such that the first and second jaw members move from the clamping position to the open position; and a driving structure guide operably associated with the shaft and operably disposed adjacent the end effector assembly, the driving structure guide includes at least two grooves each configured to receive a respective one of the two substantially resilient legs of the bifurcated distal end, wherein the driving structure guide is fixed from movement with regard to the shaft, and wherein a first groove of the at least two grooves guides the respective one of the two substantially resilient legs of the bifurcated distal end along a curved path with respect to the longitudinal axis.
