PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional machine 100 which can make earlier reading start of a manuscript image when a subsequent job exists after the reading of the manuscript image is completed.SOLUTION: In a double-side reading mode in which the first surface of a manuscript is read with a CCD and the second surface of the manuscript is read with a CIS, an activation continuation unit 306 executes, a CIS activation mode to continue an activated state intact without stopping the CIS, after a first job in the double-side reading mode is completed if a second job subsequent thereto exists. Also, in a reading mode in which a manuscript is read with the CCD, the activation continuation unit 306 executes a CCD activation mode to continue an activated state intact without stopping the CCD after a first job is completed if a second job subsequent thereto exists.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
