PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a complex having a high conductivity; a carbon-based conductive assistant including such a complex; an electrode mixture layer for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which includes such a conductive assistant; and an electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which includes such an electrode mixture layer.SOLUTION: A complex comprises: ultramicro fibrous carbon; and spherical carbon. The ultramicro fibrous carbon has a straight line structure, and an average fiber diameter of over 100 to 900 nm.
