The present invention is to apply a sufficient electric field to a liquid crystal material in a liquid crystal display device of an in-plane switching-type represented as an FFS type. In the transverse electric field-type liquid crystal display device, an electric field is applied to the liquid crystal material on a common electrode or a pixel electrode, by using several pairs of electrodes instead of one pair of electrodes. One pair of the electrode includes a comblike common electrode and a comblike pixel electrode. The other pairs of the electrodes include a common electrode provided on the pixel part and the comblike pixel electrode. |
