This surgical instrument is provided with: an insertion section; a first jaw; a second jaw; a joining section for joining tissue gripped by the first jaw and the second jaw; a guide section formed in a predetermined curved shape and disposed on the first jaw; an operation section having a section to be guided which engages with the guide section, a base which is continuous with the section to be guided, and a blade section which is affixed to the base; and a connection member for cutting off which extends from the proximal end of the guide section to the distal end thereof when viewed along the guide section, is bent at the distal end of the guide section and turned back so as to extend toward the proximal end of the guide section, and is connected to the operation section. |
