PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress local inversion failure of a polarization inversion part and prevent deterioration of wavelength conversion efficiency due thereto when a wavelength conversion element with a periodic polarization inversion structure provided on a ferroelectric crystal substrate is manufactured.SOLUTION: A periodic polarization inversion structure is formed by applying a voltage between a plurality of electrode pieces 16 provided on a first principal surface 1a of a ferroelectric crystal substrate and a uniform electrode 14 provided on a second principal surface 1b. A non-electrode part 20 extending to a direction intersecting with a longitudinal direction L of the electrode piece 16 is formed across the electrode piece 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
