PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electro-optic device by which display qualities can be improved.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device is provided, which aims to manufacture a plurality of liquid crystal devices by forming a plurality of frame-like first sealing materials on a first large substrate where at least one layer of an interlayer insulating film (fourth interlayer insulating film 11e) is subjected to a polishing treatment for flattening, bonding the first large substrate to a second large substrate, and cutting the first large substrate and the second large substrate along the plurality of first sealing materials. The method includes: a step of forming a barrier film 50 on the first large substrate and below an interlayer insulating film (11e2) to be polished; and a step of forming a second sealing material enclosing the plurality of first sealing materials on the first large substrate or the second large substrate so as to overlap the barrier film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
