PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle input device and a vehicle cockpit module capable of intuitive input operation even from a position distant from a display device and facilitating grasping the correspondence between the input operation and an input result of the input operation.SOLUTION: A vehicle input device comprises: a display device 16 disposed generally at the center of an instrument panel 30; a detection unit 12 provided on a side surface of a meter hood 26 so as to face a lateral side of a space 34 between the display device 16 and a driver seat; and a display control unit 14 controlling a display content of the display device 16 on the basis of a signal from the detection unit 12.
