PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of appropriately performing luminance adjustment of a picture without changing the installation place of the display device, and receiving the operation signal of a remote controller by avoiding an obstacle to light reception. SOLUTION: A plurality of receptacles 3 are formed to surround a display part 1 in a recess formed at the outer edge part of the display part 1, a plug 5 carrying a brightness sensor 4 or a plug 7 carrying a remote control light receiving part 6 is fit to the receptacle 3. When a user selects the receptacle 3 to which the plug 5 is fit and positions the brightness sensor 4 at a part where it is not influenced by any of sunlight 22 and shadow 27, the display device adjusts the luminance of the display part 1 on the basis of light originally aiming at measurement by the brightness sensor 4, and when the user selects the receptacle 3 to which the plug 7 is fit and positions the remote control light receiving part 6 at a part where it avoids influence by furniture 28, the display device surely receives an operation signal from the remote controller.
