The cartridge (30) has a body (31) provided with a front side which has an ink supply unit positioned inside of the body. A projection part (46) is placed at the level of the front side opposite to the supply unit. The projection part is designed to be attracted by an attraction element (139) in an attraction direction (55) opposite to installation direction (56) of an installation cartridge (110). A sensor (117) detects the projection part in detection position during installation of the cartridge. An independent claim is also included for a recording apparatus comprising a sensor.
