PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head mounted with a damper member such that a damper surface does not project in a pressure chamber direction to narrow an ink flow passage while exhibiting damper effect, and a method of manufacturing the damper member.SOLUTION: An ink jet head has pressure chambers 121 arrayed in two or more columns, a common ink chamber 141 communicating with the pressure chambers 121 through ink entrances 131a, and a damper member 15 in the common ink chamber 141. The damper member 15 has a damper frame 151 and a flexible film 152, at least a plane, opposed to the ink entrance 131a, of the damper frame 151 is formed of a flexible film 152, and the damper member 151 is so arranged that the separation distance D between the flexible film 152 and ink entrance 131a is 70 μm or larger when internal pressure sectioned with the damper frame 151 and flexible film 152 is negative or when the flexible film is at a use temperature for discharging the ink in the common ink chamber 141. A method of manufacturing the damper member 15 includes a negative pressure generating process of making the internal pressure negative. |
