<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode capable of effectively radiating heat generated from a light emitting element to the outside with good balance via a pair of electrode patterns and also excellent in light emitting characteristics, while having a structure where the light emitting element is mounted on an insulating flat plate-like substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting diode 11 includes: a substrate 12; a pair of surface electrodes 13a, 14a formed on a surface of the substrate 12; and a light emitting element 15 mounted on the pair of surface electrodes 13a, 14a. In the light emitting diode 11, the pair of surface electrodes 13a, 14a are formed on the substantially entire surface of the substrate 12 excluding an insulation region 20 provided at a substantially central part of the surface of the substrate 12, and the light emitting element 15 is mounted on the pair of surface electrodes 13a, 14a while a substantially central part of the light emitting element 15 is made to coincide with the insulation region 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
